What’s a unicorn worth?
Privately held companies valued at $1 billion or more are known as “unicorns,” a name they have earned because they are considered as rare as the mythical creatures. Many unicorns are platform businesses — like Uber, one of the first well-known unicorns now publicly traded on the NYSE, or Airbnb, which remains a unicorn for now — that provide users with access to goods or services in ingenious ways, disrupting established industries that are now trying
